Fine art photography, call it and describe it as you wish. The questions around photography and art? Have been debated since Henry Fox Talbot was producing the very first photographs, and will probably continue. Many would call it cheating, but really it is just another way of seeing and expressing yourself.
For my own purposes I have decided on the following definition, it is derived from many others I have read and combined it in to something that makes sense to me.
"The creation of images captured by photographic means that have no other purpose other than to satisfy the creative vision of the photographer. The purpose of the photograph being the photograph itself."
It could be said that all of the images in the BN-Images gallery are fine art photographs; because they are all my interpretation through the use of a camera and some manipulation of what I saw and experienced. This I believe is where the art comes in; it is my interpretation of the subject.
There are a mixture of subjects in this gallery, they could be monochrome, color, or something else in between. The subject is not important, I took them and manipulated them because I liked them.
Most of these images have been created digitally, although some will have been captured on film and scanned.
All the fine art photographs are reproduced on traditional photographic paper
Hope you enjoy the images!
