Welcome to the BN-Images Photo Art Gallery
Fine art photography, Photo art, call it and describe as you wish but the question is photography art? Has been debated since photography began, painters would say no! It’s cheating, when digital photography nosed its way into the limelight traditional photographers also said that was cheating.
My own definition of fine art photography is:
The creation of images captured by photographic means that have no other purpose other than to satisfy the creative vision of the photographer. The purpose of the photograph being the photograph itself.
It could be said that all of the images in the BN-Images gallery are fine art photographs; you will find them in the Landscape, Lake District, Aviation, Monochrome and Colour Galleries
This Photo art gallery has been set as a container for the images that do not fit under the umbrella of any of the main subject areas, or have been manipulated so they do not fit into the traditional areas of monochrome or black and white, and colour photography.
Most of these images have been created digitally, although some will have been captured on film and scanned. They are not printed using inkjet printers but are reproduced on traditional photographic paper to ensure the archival permanence and quality of the print. This is very important with Fine Art Photography, as the object of the exercise is the photograph itself.
